40 is the old age of youth,
50 is the youth of old age – Victor Hugo
Hey there and welcome to Lisa After 50! Victor says I’m youthful!!!!
This is my little corner of the cyber world where I’ll be sharing my passion for marriage, family, cooking, and home, as well as encouraging you to live a life where your thoughts, words and actions all center around what God says about you.
I started this blog over six years ago and ended up placing it on the back burner when life got a little crazy. But now I’m back and oh how things have changed over the past six years!
A little about me
I’m a homemaker at heart -As far back as I can remember my dream and prayer was to have a large family and be a housewife and homemaker. God answered that prayer and for twenty years I was exactly that and I loved every minute of it! And boy did those years go by fast! TOO fast…
I thrive on preparation! – I’ve always loved the start to finish process of creating; whether it’s creating a beautiful room or table scape, planning an elaborate event or family holiday, a Sunday dinner, impromptu happy hours, or a sexy date night with my husband. I love it all!
I love encouraging people to see the positive side of life – I feel the world has enough negative in it, so why go lookin for it and even worse, dwelling in it. It’s just as easy to look for the positive and the good things in everyday life.
I know that God is behind it all – It took me years to realize this desire in me to encourage others and to make events out of everyday life was not rooted in vanity or the need to show off but it was actually gifts from God. God blessed me with the gift of creativity and hospitality, as well as the desire and ability to encourage others. That alone is what drives me to want to share my heart, and my creativity with anyone who is looking for inspiration.
My intention for this blog –
I want to share family recipes, holiday and creative event ideas and my home decor. I also want to share my thoughts and opinions on everything from the power of your thoughts and words, attitudes, politics, parenting, religion, social media, current events and even sex! – Buckle up!
By no means do I think my thoughts and opinions should be yours. I am simply sharing what God places on MY heart. If it resinates with you, wonderful! If not, that’s okay too.
Most importantly – I want to inspire you to trust God, live with expectancy of good, and to find the gift(s) He’s given you so you can share it/them with others and leave your mark on this world.
Y’all, tomorrow isn’t promised and life is too precious and way too short to not live the life God has planned for you, starting today!
