Puff Pastry Bread Sticks

These cheese filled littles gems may not have turned out as pretty as I would have liked, but they were DELICIOUS! I used Fontina and Parmesan but feel free to use any cheese you like.

Ingredients

  • 1 Frozen Puff Pastry (thawed to room temperature)
  • 2 Cups shredded cheese of your choice
  • 1 egg
  • 2 TBLS water
  • 1/2 Stick salted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 Clove fresh minced garlic

Instructions

  • Roll out pastry dough to form a rectangle approximately 10″ x 14″
  • Sprinkle cheese and press into dough using your hands
  • Fold dough in half lengthwise and roll again to flatten
  • Cut into 1″ strips and twist
  • Transfer to greased baking sheet
  • Mix egg and water to make an egg wash
  • Brush on egg wash and bake on 350 for approximately 20 – 25 minutes.
  • Melt butter and add garlic and parsley
  • As soon as they come out of the oven brush on butter and serve
