Let’s face it … Life can get overwhelming

And many times it’s because of our own doing.  We over schedule, we binge on Netflix or stalk social media for hours instead of being productive. We say yes to things we should say no to …  we run, run ,run with no end in sight. Before we know it, our home is mess, filled with clutter. And I am a firm believer in and cluttered space, means a cluttered mind and a cluttered mind means – NO PEACE

So…what to do?

I suggest a 48 hour Re-set

I suggest taking off 2 days during the work week when your family is at work/school.  Take 2 days and simply slow down and get your life in order.

Here are some examples of what I do, when life gets a bit out of control.

Turn it off –  Step away from the noise and rediscover peace in silence.

  • Power down: Turn off your phone, computer, and TV.

  • Slow Quiet Mornings: Start the day with sitting quietly with your thoughts.

  • Reflect: Think about what you’re feeling, what surfaces in the quiet, and what you’ve been too busy to notice.

  • Talk to God: Pray out loud, write a letter to Him. Tell him your darkest fears, frustrations and needs. then, sit quietly and listen for His voice.

Clear the clutter –  There in nothing in this world that will get me overwhelmed faster than clutter! I hate it! I hate it SO much! So during your 48 hours, try the following:

  • Paper purge: Sort through piles of mail, receipts, and notes. Shred or recycle what you don’t need.

  •  Clothing check: If you haven’t worn it in a year, it’s time to donate or toss.

  • Kitchen sweep: Check your fridge and pantry—toss expired items and reorganize what’s left.

  • Digital declutter: Delete old downloads, unsubscribe from junk emails, and clear your desktop.

  • Cabinets & drawers: Go one by one—only keep what’s useful, beautiful, or meaningful.

  • Bathroom reset: Get rid of old products, organize what’s left neatly.

Be Grateful to The One who makes it all possible – After you’ve had time to unwind and de-clutter, simply sit back and thank Him. Rest in knowing He is with you always and He is your peace in all situations.

This is just the beginning of a long list of things that we can do to simplify life. But when it comes down to it, it is not about the list of things we can “do”—that’s what got us into this busy mindset in the first place. It’s about pausing and just being. Be still. Be thoughtful. Be in His presence.
