Ingredients
- *1 Cup Flour
- 1/4 Cup Cornstarch
- 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 Tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 1 Cup Buttermilk
- 1/2 Cup Melted Butter
- 1 Egg (room temperature and separated)
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Beat egg white until stiff peak forms and set aside
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all dry, white ingredients and mix well.
- Add milk, butter, egg yolk, sugar and vanilla and mix until barely blended. DO NOT over mix. A few lumps are okay.
- Fold in egg white until thoroughly combined. Try not to deflate the fluffiness of the egg whites. (this gives you the light ad crisp texture)
- Let the batter sit for 30 minutes
- Heat waffle iron and cook per directed by your waffle iron manufacturer
